The Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Discusses Bilateral Cooperation Expansion Issues with the Leadership of the Fuel and Energy Complex of Turkmenistan

On Wednesday, the Government of Turkmenistan held negotiations on expanding the Turkmen-Azerbaijani cooperation in the oil and gas sector with the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov, who is visiting Ashgabat at the head of the Azerbaijani delegation.

At the meeting of M. Jabbarov with the Minister of State – Chairman of the Türkmengaz State Concern Maksat Babayev, in which representatives of the SOCAR Company also took part, an exchange of views on the expansion of cooperation in the energy sector, the joint exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources and the implementation of potential projects took place.

At a meeting between the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Amanov, prospects of the development of cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector were considered, and the potential for implementing joint projects was discussed.

At a meeting with the participation of the SOCAR representatives, it was emphasized that the documents signed between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in the sphere of energy were an important contribution to expanding the cooperation.

On the same day, M. Jabbarov held a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, Co-Chairman of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission Batyr Atdayev, at which the possibilities of increasing the bilateral trade turnover, expanding ties between business circles and holding the next meeting of the Commission were discussed.
