The President of Turkmenistan noted the successful cooperation with Malaysia in the oil and gas industry

 President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Wednesday met the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to Turkmenistan Mohd Suhaimi Bin Ahmad Tajuddin, TDH reports.

 As was emphasized during the meeting, Malaysia is one of the most important partners of Turkmenistan in the Asia-Pacific region.  Interstate relations, based on the principles of mutual respect, friendship and understanding, are currently acquiring a new meaning.

 During an interested exchange of views on the current state and prospects for the development of the Turkmen-Malaysian partnership, the interlocutors noted the wide opportunities for its further development in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

 – Speaking about bilateral relations, it is important to note that Turkmen-Malaysian trade and economic relations demonstrate positive dynamics.  Cooperation in the oil and gas industry is being carried out successfully, - President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated.

 The long-term successful activity in Turkmenistan of the Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas Charigali, which makes a significant contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry of our country, was cited as an impressive example of mutually beneficial bilateral partnership in this area.

 For many years, the company has been successfully implementing a project for the extraction of hydrocarbons, and also promotes the training of highly qualified Turkmen specialists in the oil and gas industry.

 During the meeting, the ambassador presented his credentials to the head of Turkmenistan.  At the same time, the diplomat conveyed warm greetings to the President from the Supreme Ruler of Malaysia Abdullah Riayatuddin Al-Mustafa Bill and Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim, who emphasized the special importance attached to strengthening the ties of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan.

 Having reciprocated his best wishes to the top leadership of Malaysia, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Mohd Suhaimi Bin Ahmad Tajuddin on his appointment to a responsible diplomatic post, wishing him success in his work aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties between friendly countries.

 Emphasizing Turkmenistan’s commitment to deepening and building up the partnership, Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence in the further development of the Turkmen-Malaysian dialogue.
