The draft Program for the country's socio-economic development for 2024 was considered at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which was held via a digital system last Friday by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov made a report on the preparation of this Program at a government meeting.  He noted that the document was developed by the Ministry of Finance and Economy together with ministries and industry departments, administrations of velayats, the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag in accordance with the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country for 2022–2028” and the State Budget for 2024.

In accordance with the draft Program, during the year it is planned to implement measures aimed at ensuring macroeconomic stability and strengthening the economic power of the country, sustainable GDP growth, development of industries and regions, the Vice-Chairman noted.

It is also planned to achieve the full production capacity of industrial enterprises and create new jobs in the regions.

The program’s top priorities include increasing export destinations by increasing the competitiveness of the national economy, developing import-substituting industries, and increasing the production of environmentally friendly, high-quality agricultural products and food products.

 - Along with this, work will continue to provide state support to agricultural producers, ensure food abundance, high-quality transport, housing and communal services, social and other types of services to the population, as well as the dynamic development of small and medium-sized businesses, the creation of a favorable business environment, and the improvement of public-private  partnership,” noted the Vice-Chairman.

After listening to the report, the head of Turkmenistan said that the implementation of the measures outlined in the draft Program for the country’s socio-economic development for 2024 is designed to ensure sustainable growth of the country in economic and social aspects, strengthen the power of industries and regions, and increase the level of employment and life of the population.

In this regard, the Vice-Chairman was instructed to once again analyze the macroeconomic indicators defined in the Program for the current year, production plans for all sectors of the economy, and socio-economic growth indicators for velayats and cities.
