BOTAŞ company is interested in supplying Turkmen gas to Turkish and world markets

 A delegation from the Turkish state energy company BOTAŞ recently held meetings with representatives of oil and gas concerns of Turkmenistan on the supply of Turkmen gas to Turkey.  During the meetings, the strong ties between Turkmenistan and Turkey were emphasized, and BOTAŞ’s determination and interest in supplying Turkmen gas to Turkey in accordance with the political will of the leaders of the two countries was expressed, the company said in a statement, Daily Sabah writes.

 BOTAŞ stated its readiness to support the Turkmen side in achieving this goal, “while emphasizing the importance of constant communication between the two state-owned companies for the delivery of Turkmen gas to the Turkish and world markets.”  The company also stressed that it continues to work to increase the diversity of energy resources and achieve Turkey’s goal of becoming a natural gas hub.

 “On January 29, 2024, a meeting was held at the BOTAŞ headquarters with the participation of the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Ankara Mekan Ishangulyev, as well as the delegation of Turkmengaz and Turkmenneft and the BOTAŞ delegation, chaired by Deputy General Director Mithat Aydin, where the possibilities of short-term and long-term cooperation were discussed  between the parties as well as the transportation of Turkmen gas to Turkey,” says the website of the Turkish company.

 It is also reported that a high-level meeting took place between BOTAŞ Chairman and CEO Abdulwahit Fidan and the Turkmen delegation.
