President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in a telephone conversation with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, on behalf of the Turkmen people and on his own behalf, expressed words of sympathy in connection with the accident that occurred at a thermal power plant in the city of Bishkek, TDH reports.

As the head of state emphasized, Turkmenistan, in connection with what happened in Kyrgyzstan, sent humanitarian aid to a friendly country and, if necessary, is ready to provide all possible assistance.

Speaking about this, Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed words of support to the fraternal country in overcoming the current situation and wishes for the speedy completion of restoration work at the thermal power plant.

President Sadyr Japarov, on behalf of the Kyrgyz people and on his own behalf, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the words of empathy at this difficult moment.  As the head of Kyrgyzstan emphasized, his country highly values friendly relations with Turkmenistan, which was among the first to come to the aid of the neighboring state.

Taking this opportunity, Sadyr Japarov also conveyed warm greetings to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, expressing sincere gratitude for the support provided.

Continuing the telephone conversation, it was noted that relations between Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic are distinguished by a high level of mutual understanding and openness.  While developing a constructive political dialogue, both countries also actively cooperate within the framework of international organizations, including the UN and the CIS.

As noted, one of the priority areas of interaction is the trade and economic sphere, which is showing a growth trend.  A progressive nature is also inherent in traditional cultural and humanitarian contacts.

Let us recall that on January 3, in connection with the current situation in the energy sector of the Kyrgyzstan Republic, in accordance with the Order of the President of Turkmenistan, the State Concern «Turkmengas» sent 2 thousand tons of liquefied natural gas free of charge on behalf of the Turkmen people to a friendly country as humanitarian aid.
