Turkmenistan put forward a number of initiatives at the World Government Summit in Dubai

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov spoke at the World Government Summit in Dubai with initiatives in the fields of transport, energy security and circular economy, according to the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
During a working visit to the UAE, the Turkmen delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in the meetings of the World Government Summit (WGS 2024), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
At the “Effective Policy” session, Rashid Meredov made proposals for the creation of a Global Atlas of Sustainable Transport Connectivity, a Global Energy Security and Sustainability Cooperation Alliance and the development of a Global framework program for the transition to a circular economy (Global Circular Economy Transition Framework) based on the priorities of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, notes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Meredov also emphasized that Turkmenistan clearly formulates and implements its approaches and actions, outlining priorities according to which the country’s contribution will contribute to the speedy achievement of global goals.
In this context, such aspects as transport connectivity and sustainability were highlighted, so, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, six UN General Assembly resolutions on sustainable transport were adopted over the past decade.
Fuel and energy complex enterprises took part in the second virtual exhibition, which opened in honor of the Day of Neutrality of Turkmenistan
