Turkmenistan and UNECE discussed cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources

On Tuesday, a meeting of representatives of relevant ministries and departments, state concerns "Turkmengas" was held in the central building of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan and Turkmennebit with the UN Delegation of the UN European Economic Commission, headed by the Director of the UNECE Sustainable Energy Department, Dario Liguchi, who arrived in Ashgabat.

During the meeting, the issues of enhancing international cooperation in the field of renewable energy and natural gas sources were discussed.

The meeting participant held an interested exchange of views on the achievements of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan and the tasks of introducing advanced technologies into production complexes. The importance of exchanging experience with world companies and organizations was especially noted.

During the meeting, a positive assessment of the experience accumulated by Turkmenistan in the field of environmental safety in the oil and gas sector was given. Participants emphasized the important role of natural gas in the transition to renewable energy.

 Among the priorities of cooperation are the technologies for processing and expanding the use of energy resources, as well as improving the management of the industry.
