Hero-Arkadag and Xi Jinping discussed prospects for developing Turkmen-Chinese cooperation

During a friendly visit to China, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held an official meeting with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping on March 18, TDH reports.
Relations between Turkmenistan and China are reaching the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, encompassing foreign policy, economics and trade, culture, science, and education. In recent years, ties between political parties and interparliamentary dialogue have expanded, said Hero-Arkadag.
The fuel and energy sector is one of the priority areas of cooperation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized, noting the importance of joint projects to develop the Galkynysh gas field.
Given the positive experience of cooperation in the gas sector, the two sides exchanged views on the possibilities of further joint work on Turkmenistan's largest gas field. Hero-Arkadag also emphasized that the alignment of Turkmenistan's "Revival of the Great Silk Road" strategy with China's "One Belt, One Road" initiative opens up new opportunities for cooperation in transport and logistics.
Xi Jinping, noting that Turkmenistan's agricultural products are highly environmentally friendly, expressed interest in intensifying partnerships in agriculture, particularly in the supply of high-performance equipment, the implementation of water-saving technologies, and green energy.
During the meeting, Hero-Arkadag presented Xi Jinping with an invitation from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to visit Turkmenistan at his convenience.
The two leaders expressed confidence that Turkmen-Chinese relations will continue to develop and strengthen across a wide range of areas. On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov presented Xi Jinping with an Akhal-Teke horse named Gadyrly, symbolizing the successful development of ties between the friendly nations.
Roadmap approved to study the issue of accession of Turkmenistan to the Global Methane Commitment
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution approving the Roadmap for the development of international cooperation aimed at studying the issue of Turkmenistan joining the Global Methane Commitment for 2023-2024, as well as the Action Plan for its implementation.

The Renewable Energy Sources Scientific and Production Center (SPC) of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan (SEIT) has created a Unified Digital Database for Assessing Solar and Wind Resources, on the basis of which the Internet Portal of Renewable Energy Resources has been developed, the database of which is currently being updated. The Internet Portal of Renewable Energy Sources includes advanced methods for determining the potential of solar and wind energy in the regions of the country using a digital system.
