President approved the Turkmen-Saudi Intergovernmental Commission composition

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved the composition of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Saudi Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation from the Turkmen side. The head of the state signed the corresponding Resolution at a government meeting held on Friday via video communication.

The document was signed in order to implement the bilateral agreements reached between Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia, as well as to build up interaction between the two countries.

The draft of this resolution was presented to the head of the state by the Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shahym Abdrakhmanov.

The Vice-Chairman also reported on the ongoing work on projects for the development of gas chemistry, including the construction of plants for processing natural and associated gas, the introduction of modern scientific developments and advanced technologies into the industry, as well as on the steps taken to further expand cooperation in this area with reliable  foreign companies, attracting foreign investment.

As Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized, the energy strategy of Turkmenistan was aimed at ensuring the most efficient use of huge natural resources, production, scientific and technical potential of the oil and gas sector.  The solution of these problems should be facilitated by the construction of new ultra-modern gas processing complexes, that, on the basis of innovative technologies, would produce high-quality products in high demand both in our country and abroad.

Pointing to the need to give more dynamism to the implementation of investment projects aimed at diversifying the oil and gas industry, the President gave the Vice-Chairman specific instructions.
