The Concept of Ensuring the Security of the Afghan Section of the TAPI Gas Pipeline Signed

 The concept of ensuring the security of the Afghan section of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline was signed last week by official representatives of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.

 The document was signed following the meeting of the representative of the State Concern «Turkmengas» in the Board of Directors of OJSC «TAPI Pipeline Company Ltd» M. Amanov and the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Afghanistan H. Ovezov with the Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council of Afghanistan E. Ebad.

 During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the ongoing work on the TAPI gas pipeline construction project.  The parties discussed the implementation of measures to be held at the end of August 2021 on behalf of the heads of the two states.

 Ebad said the Security Concept is an important step in the timely implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project, including the development of a security plan and protocol that are annexes to the Host Government Agreement.
