The prospects for cooperation within the TRACECA transport project were discussed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

 The state and prospects of cooperation were discussed on April 17 at a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA Aset Asavbaev, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

 During the meeting, the active role of Turkmenistan in establishing and expanding the transport and transit potential of the region was noted.  In this context, it was emphasized that the Turkmen side is ready to continue the joint implementation of TRACECA documents aimed at expanding the investment opportunities of transport and transit corridors.

 During the meeting, the fact of Turkmenistan’s accession on November 14, 2023 to the Basic Multilateral Agreement on International Transport for the development of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia corridor, aimed at developing economic relations, trade and transport links in the regions of Europe, the Black and Caspian Seas, the Caucasus and Asia, was stated.

 The parties expressed interest in continuing joint events and specialized meetings with the participation of representatives of the transport sector of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes.
