The state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan begins

Today begins the first state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Yun Seok Yeol, to Turkmenistan, TDH reports.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Republic of Korea in November 2022, which was a clear demonstration of the intensification of high-level exchanges that contribute to the further deepening and development of bilateral mutually beneficial partnership.

Currently, several Korean companies are involved in infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan, including the development of gas fields and the construction of industrial enterprises. Other Korean enterprises have also expressed great interest in participating in similar projects.  The Turkmen side hopes that this visit will provide additional opportunities for the development of business cooperation between the two countries.

In the current international situation, numerous opportunities are opening up for the Turkmen and Korean sides, including those related to green growth and digital transformation.

Within the framework of the visit of the President of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Yoon Seok Yeol, fruitful discussions of issues aimed at the development of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea are planned.  In particular, it is expected that key and promising areas such as energy and smart cities will be considered.

Turkmenistan warmly welcomes the state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Yoon Seok Yeol.  At the same time, the Turkmen side expresses deep confidence that this visit will contribute to the further expansion of cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Turkmenistan, as well as between the Republic of Korea and the Central Asian region, TDH notes.
