International conference on the occasion of the Caspian Sea Day was held at the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone

On August 12, the Berkarar Hotel hosted a scientific and practical conference entitled “The Caspian Sea: Partnership for Sustainable Development”. The event, dedicated to the International Caspian Sea Day, was organized at the initiative of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Caspian Sea Institute with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The conference was attended by members of the government, ministers and heads of relevant departments, scientists, representatives of diplomatic missions of the Caspian states accredited in Turkmenistan, as well as Turkey, Georgia, Romania, Great Britain, Tajikistan and international organizations.

As reported by the MIC, the conference participants discussed current issues of cooperation in the Caspian region aimed at ensuring sustainable development and solving environmental problems. The importance of implementing the Caspian Environmental Program was emphasized.

The conference included an exhibition dedicated to the nature and ecology of the Caspian Sea, as well as cultural and sports events.
