Turkmenistan considers it important to continue work on establishing an international dialogue with the new authorities of Afghanistan, said President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the first Central Asia-Italy summit on May 30 in Astana.

"Speaking about regional security, we cannot ignore the situation in Afghanistan. Turkmenistan considers it important to continue practical work on establishing an international dialogue with the new de facto authorities of Afghanistan," said Serdar Berdimuhamedov, whose speech was published on Saturday by the central media of our country.

"We are convinced that a stable and economically developing Afghanistan meets the interests of the entire international community," the President emphasized.

"In this regard, Turkmenistan will continue to make the necessary efforts to implement major regional projects, such as the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, the high-voltage power transmission line along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India route, and the construction of railways in the Afghan direction," said Serdar Berdimuhamedov. "We also consider it necessary to intensify efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the Afghan people," the President of Turkmenistan noted.
