Turkmenistan to Build New Complex with Annual Production Capacity of Over 1.1 Million Tons of Urea

The Japanese company "Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd." and the Turkish "Gap İnşaat Yatırım ve Dış Ticaret Anonim Şirketi" will build a complex in Turkmenistan with an annual production capacity of over 1.1 million tons of urea, under a contract with the State Concern "Turkmenchemistry".
The relevant decree was signed by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, reports TDH.
"In order to significantly increase the country's export potential, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree, authorizing the State Concern “Turkmenchemistry” to sign a contract with the companies Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Japan) and Gap İnşaat Yatırım ve Dış Ticaret Anonim Şirketi (Turkey) for the design and construction, including landscaping of the adjacent areas, of a complex with an annual output of 1 million 155 thousand tons of urea in the Turkmenbashi etrap of the Balkan region," the publication writes.
The document stipulates that construction work should begin in July 2026, with the complex to be fully commissioned by February 2030.
