Turkmenistan supports Afghanistan's active involvement in international economic cooperation

Turkmenistan is ready to continue cooperation with countries in the region, the European Union, and international organizations to ensure Afghanistan's sustainable development, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov, speaking on June 15 in Almaty at the regular meeting of the special representatives and envoys of the European Union and Central Asian countries for Afghanistan.
Gurbanov emphasized that Turkmenistan views Afghanistan as an important participant in regional integration processes and supports the country's active involvement in international economic cooperation.
The Turkmen side confirmed its readiness to continue constructive interaction with countries in the region, the European Union, and international organizations to ensure Afghanistan's sustainable development, strengthen regional stability, and expand mutually beneficial cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Gurbanov also noted Turkmenistan's consistent position aimed at supporting a peaceful, stable, and economically sustainable Afghanistan.
During the meeting, participants discussed a wide range of issues related to the current situation in Afghanistan, prospects for regional cooperation, and international collaboration to promote the country's sustainable development.
It is worth noting that one of the largest international energy projects of our time, the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline, is currently underway in the neighboring country. The project, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag, is now being consistently implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Construction of the key section of the TAPI gas pipeline from Serhetabat to Herat, known as "Arkadagyň ak ýoly," is progressing rapidly. The State Concern Turkmengaz is the general contractor for the project, and the actual construction work is being carried out by CJSC Turkmengazgurlushyk.
