Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov set tasks for the development of the gas industry in Mary and Lebap regions

 As part of a working trip to Mary and Lebap regions, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the leaders of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan on Tuesday, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

 The meeting was attended by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shakhym Abdrakhmanov, heads of structures of the oil and gas industry, as well as subordinate institutions of the fuel and energy complex in Mary region.

 The meeting discussed issues related to the further development of the oil and gas industry of our country, an increase in gas production from the fields of Mary and Lebap regions, as well as strengthening the position of Turkmenistan in the world energy market.

 Chairman of the State Corporation "Turkmengeology" M. Rozyev reported on the tasks identified in the "Work plan for 2022-2023", the results of geological exploration carried out in the country.

 The head of the State Concern "Turkmengas" B. Amanov reported on the work carried out to modernize gas fields, industrial development of new fields, expand export directions of "blue fuel".

 In the report of Vice-Chairman Sh.Abdrakhmanov, it was reported about the investments allocated for the development of the oil and gas industry, as well as the fact that, in accordance with the instructions of the head of state, in all structures of the fuel and energy complex, great attention is paid to the ecological state and the level of safety of the work carried out.

 Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that huge investments directed to the oil and gas complex of our country are of great importance in the development of the industry, provision of necessary equipment to enterprises, conducting geological prospecting, drilling works, and industrial development of new fields.  Thus, through the development of international cooperation, large-scale projects are being implemented.

 In this context, they noted the need to keep under constant control the level of safety of work at oil and gas fields.

 The reports also reported on the measures taken to increase the production of natural gas, increase the productivity of wells, as well as the use of modern technologies in the development of new fields.

 Information was also given on the progress of work on the implementation of joint investment projects with foreign partners for the development of the Galkynysh gas field, on the geophysical research and exploration and drilling operations carried out according to the instructions of the head of state.

 After listening to the reports, the President emphasized that the optimal solution to the tasks of processing natural gas and increasing its export volumes will not only strengthen the national economy, but also achieve constructive international partnership, emphasizing the need to use the advanced achievements of world science and practice for this purpose.

 The head of state ordered to accelerate the pace of geological exploration, as well as comprehensive measures to search, identify and discover new oil and gas fields.

 On the same day, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov flew by helicopter towards the Malay gas field located in the Lebap region.  Here, the President held a meeting at which the issues related to the implementation of the tasks outlined in the Program for the Development of the Oil and Gas Industry of the Country until 2030, the modernization of the Malay gas field, and the growth of its production capacity were discussed.

 The Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Natural Gas of the State Concern "Turkmengas" informed the President about the ongoing research work to increase the productivity of natural gas fields, about the results of exploration and the identification of new wells.

 It was reported that the newly discovered fields in the Mary and Lebap regions are expected to have significant reserves of natural gas.  At the same time, it was noted that the gas produced in the upper layers of the earth is recognized as meeting high international standards and is considered the most environmentally friendly, which causes increased interest in Turkmen natural gas on world markets.

 After hearing the report, the head of state stated that as a result of the industrial development of newly discovered gas fields, the volume of the country's gas resources will increase by 126 billion cubic meters.  And this is a gratifying event.

 The Chairman of the State Corporation "Turkmengeology" reported on the geophysical and geological exploration conducted in the regions of the country, as well as on their results.  In this context, great importance is attached to the issues of improving the Corporation's activities, introducing modern advanced experience into its work.

 The Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmengas" reported that at present in the regions of the country, including in the territory of Mary and Lebap regions, work on the industrial development of newly discovered deposits continues at an accelerated pace.

 Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Sh. Abdrakhmanov reported on the work on the implementation of the Program for the Development of the Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan until 2030.

 Having listened to the reports, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that the domestic fuel and energy complex faces three main tasks.  This is the industrialization of the oil and gas sector, providing domestic consumers with appropriate products and increasing the export potential of the industry.

 In this regard, the head of state noted the need to introduce the achievements of modern science in this area, to develop international cooperation, addressing specific instructions to the relevant leaders.
