President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree on the appointment of Shakhym Abdrakhmanov as Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. The document was signed by the head of state during a government meeting held via video link last Friday.
During the meeting, the President emphasized that one of the priority areas of the policy of our state is the further development of the oil and gas complex, the basic branch of the domestic economy.
Noting the great professional experience of Sh. Abdrakhmanov, the head of Turkmenistan announced the decision to leave him as Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for the oil and gas complex.
At the same time, the duties of the chairman from the Turkmen side of the Turkmen-Korean commission on trade, economic and scientific and technical cooperation, the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Afghan commission on trade and economic cooperation, the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Armenian commission on economic cooperation, the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Saudi Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project.
Addressing the Vice-Chairman, the head of state emphasized that, first of all, the attention of the leaders of the supervised complex should be focused on the importance of strict fulfillment of production obligations, financial and economic development of the industry, and achieving high liquidity of products.
Among the priority tasks was the completion of the construction of the transcontinental gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India, which is of international importance and is designed not only to ensure long-term supplies of natural gas from Turkmenistan to the largest countries of South Asia, but also to give a powerful impetus to further socio-economic development of the entire region .
Along with this, emphasis was placed on the importance of continuing the development of the Galkynysh gas field and other promising oil and gas deposits, more actively attracting foreign investment in order to accelerate the development of the country's natural resources.
Having signed the relevant Decree, the President of Turkmenistan wished the Vice-premier success in his work.
Expressing gratitude to the head of state for his confidence, the newly appointed Vice-Chairman assured that he would make every effort to timely fulfill the tasks aimed at further improving the activities of the oil and gas sector.
The work of the Interdepartmental Commission on the Caspian Sea was discussed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
The 63rd meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission of Turkmenistan on the Caspian Sea was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 23.
