Turkmenistan and Afghanistan discussed issues of strengthening cooperation in the fuel and energy complex and transport

The issues of strengthening trade, economic, energy, transport and communication cooperation were discussed online by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and acting Chairman of the Central Bank of Afghanistan Ajmal Ahmadi, the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.

During the negotiations, the results of the previous meetings of the delegations of Turkmenistan and the IRA received a positive assessment.

The parties agreed to further intensify projects for Afghanistan's entry into the international economic system. This process will be facilitated by the early implementation of the projects of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power line, as well as the Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey transport corridor and a number of other international projects.

The participants of the meeting stated that the successful implementation of these projects will give a powerful impetus to the sustainable economic development of the entire region, will contribute to solving social and humanitarian issues, strengthening peace and security. In particular, it will be possible to increase the level of employment of the population in connection with the emergence of new jobs, as well as to create an appropriate infrastructure for energy, transport and communication and transit and logistics areas.
