Renewable energy sources (RES) will not become a «straw» to save Europe's energy sector, said Alexei Miller, Chairman of the Board of Gazprom, at SPIEF-2022 during the session «The World Oil and Gas Market Today and Tomorrow», Interfax reports.
“As for renewable energy, this is an attempt to get one’s resource at the expense of others. After all, their policy was aimed at making suppliers of traditional resources pay for it. And from the environmental point of view, renewable energy has an even greater carbon footprint”, he said.
In addition, 100% reservation is required for renewable sources precisely at the expense of natural gas, the head of Gazprom recalled.
«The depletion of resources is already a fait accompli, Europe is a net importer», he said.
