Turkmenistan takes part in negotiations on modernizing the Energy Charter Treaty

The meeting of the group on modernization of the Energy Charter Treaty was held on Tuesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in the format of an online conference, the website of our foreign ministry reports. The multilateral negotiations were attended by delegations of the Energy Charter Secretariat, the European Union and a number of countries belonging to this organization.  Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Concern "Turkmengas" took part in a videoconference from Turkmenistan. The meeting participants considered issues related to the modernization of the Energy Charter Treaty, as well as the impact of the global agenda on world energy markets. In addition, practical, regulatory and legal aspects of energy transit were discussed.  The summary report of the meeting held in December 2019 was approved. An exchange of views on topical issues of energy security also took place. The meeting participants reaffirmed their desire to help strengthen the reliability and stability of energy transit.  In this context, the need to coordinate efforts in these areas was emphasized. In November 2017, the 28th session of the Energy Charter Conference was held in Ashgabat, during which the Ashgabat Energy Charter Declaration was adopted under the leadership of Turkmenistan.  The document recognized the importance of modernizing the Energy Charter process in order to strengthen long-term cooperation in the field of energy and to promote energy security. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to use a video conference format for further rounds of negotiations.

Seydi refinery increases production and export of bitumen

The Seydi oil refinery is consistently increasing the output of oil products and increasing the volume of export deliveries.
