Working commission will prepare a Memorandum on the foreign trade regime of Turkmenistan

The President of Turkmenistan signed a resolution in accordance with which a Working Commission was established to develop a Memorandum on the procedure for foreign trade of Turkmenistan, and its composition was approved. This document was signed by the head of state during a government meeting last Friday.
The draft resolution was presented at a government meeting by Vice-Chairman Hojamyrat Geldimuradov, who also reported on the results of a working visit to Ashgabat by a high-level delegation of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
In particular, it was reported that WTO representatives held a number of meetings in the ministries of finance and economy, foreign affairs, trade and foreign economic relations, the Central Bank and the Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of the country, during which the prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation were considered.
After listening to the report, the head of state noted that in the modern period, Turkmenistan faces the task of more intensive integration into the system of world economic relations. To this end, Ashgabat stepped up further steps in the framework of its accession to the WTO and received the status of “active observer” last year.
During the meeting, information was provided on the steps being taken to create a Working Group to develop a draft Memorandum on the order of foreign trade of Turkmenistan.
