Azerbaijan increased purchases of natural gas from Turkmenistan

From January to April 2023, Azerbaijan increased the purchase of Turkmen natural gas to 398.87 million cubic meters, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, the cost of Turkmen gas imports amounted to more than 59.18 million US dollars, which is 4.8 times more than in the same period in 2022. Then Azerbaijan bought more than 151.96 million cubic meters of Turkmen gas for an amount exceeding 12.15 million US dollars.
Azerbaijan bought more than 1.19 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the amount of 202.41 million US dollars in the first four months of this year. At the same time, the share of Turkmen gas in the total volume of natural gas imports by Azerbaijan amounted to 33.25%.
Over the past year, Azerbaijan imported over 857 million cubic meters of natural gas from Turkmenistan for a total of $110.8 million.
