The United Arab Emirates has joined the Global Biofuels Alliance, which was created by India, the UK and the US.  This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Energy of the United Arab Emirates Suheil al-Mazrui, TASS reports.

The minister noted that the UAE is “strongly investing in biofuels” as part of efforts to diversify energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that global biofuel production should triple by 2030.  Currently, more than 80% of biofuel production is concentrated in four markets: the US, Brazil, Europe and Indonesia.
