Ashgabat’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with the European Commission in the energy sector was announced by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Belgium Sapar Palvanov at a meeting with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. This is reported by the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
During the conversation, the commitment of Turkmenistan to further strengthening cooperation with the European Commission in all areas of cooperation, including in the energy sector, was confirmed, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
In this regard, the head of the European Commission noted the prospects for further expansion of the partnership.
In conclusion, the parties expressed their readiness to further develop effective cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU, the Foreign Ministry reports.
During the meeting, Sapar Palvanov presented his credentials to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
As previously reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, being committed to the strategy of diversifying energy flows, official Ashgabat expresses its readiness to continue cooperation with partners in the implementation of the Trans-Caspian pipeline project. In this regard, it was emphasized that there are no political, economic, financial factors hindering the construction of this gas pipeline.
