Turkmenistan at the UN General Assembly will propose to develop a global strategy for zero growth in greenhouse gas emissions

Turkmenistan at a regular session of the UN General Assembly will make a proposal to develop a global Zero GHG emissions strategy by 2030 and adopt the International Forum on this issue. This proposal is included in the priority positions of Turkmenistan at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. 

“Turkmenistan intends to intensify its efforts to promote the initiative on the “global methane commitment”. 

Following the path of joining this document and in order to strengthen control of the efficiency of work on the systematic reduction of greenhouse gases and methane emissions arising in various sectors of the economy, under the National Strategy for Climate Change, under the National Strategy for Climate Change, UN Global Strategy for Zero GHG emissions by 2030,” the Foreign Ministry said. 

“For this purpose, we express interest in the adoption in Turkmenistan of the International Forum / Regional Meeting on the Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Volumes, and Methane Emissions to Atmosphere with the Participation of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), UN on Industrial Development (UNIDO), United Nations Environment Programs (UNEP) and International Methane Emission Observatory.
