Turkmenistan’s GDP growth in January-August amounted to a stable 6.2%

Over the eight months of 2023, Turkmenistan has achieved a stable GDP growth rate of 6.2%. This was announced at a government meeting last Friday.
Compared to the same period last year, retail trade turnover increased by 9.6%, foreign trade turnover increased by 2.5%.
The revenue side of the State budget for eight months of the current year was fulfilled at the level of 112.6%, and the expenditure side – 97.9%. Compared to the same period in 2022, the volume of capital investments disbursed from all sources of financing increased by 10.9%.
After listening to the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that drafts of the State Budget and Investment Program for the next year should be prepared within the established time frame.
Further improvement of the banking system was identified as a priority task. In this regard, the importance of taking measures to expand the range of services they provide and increase the solvency of credit institutions was noted.
