 The priority areas of bilateral Turkmen-German cooperation were discussed at a working meeting of the leadership of Turkmenistan, held on Thursday before the trip of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Germany, TDH reports.

 The meeting, held on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, was attended by Vice-Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of ministries and line departments, representatives of the country’s business sector, as well as the media.

 Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov made a report on the preparation of the working visit to Germany.  As noted, in the foreign policy strategy of Turkmenistan, based on the principles of positive neutrality and constructive international cooperation, great importance is attached to the development of mutually beneficial relations with the states of the European Union, including Germany.

 Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan and Germany demonstrate a mutual commitment to long-term cooperation covering a wide range of areas, in particular in the fields of high technology, industry, transport and agriculture.

 During the meeting, it was noted that the program of the working trip of the delegation of Turkmenistan to Germany includes a meeting in the “Central Asia + Germany” format, during which new vectors of cooperation will be discussed in terms of the implementation of previously reached agreements in various fields, based on the existing diplomatic relations between the two countries.  relationships.

As Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized, Turkmenistan highly values the intergovernmental relations established with Germany in recent years and attaches great importance to their development in priority areas.

 During the meeting, it was noted that there are great opportunities for actively expanding cooperation in various fields, especially in the political, diplomatic, trade-economic, business and cultural-humanitarian spheres, based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and trust.

 After the meeting, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan left for a working visit to Germany.

 Before departure, at Ashgabat airport, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a conversation with the German Ambassador to Turkmenistan Michael Uwe Bierhoff.  During the meeting, it was noted that German business structures, which have maintained fruitful relations with Turkmenistan for many years, are actively involved in the implementation of large-scale projects in our country, in particular in the fields of healthcare, high technology and agriculture.
