On Wednesday, October 25, the International Energy Forum “OGT 2023” will begin in the capital of Turkmenistan. It will bring together more than 700 delegates from 46 countries.  Among its delegates are more than 400 representatives of international companies and organizations, diplomatic missions and ministries, financial institutions, foreign and Turkmen media.

The slogan of the upcoming energy forum is “Reliable.  Sustainable.  Clean Energy demonstrates its more ambitious goals than in previous years. The current challenges are not focused solely on energy topics, but cover a wide range of issues related to renewable energy and climate.

All this covers a set of interconnected industrial, high-tech, environmental and climate challenges that will be addressed by the COP 28 Global Climate Summit, which will take place in November in the United Arab Emirates.  As you know, the President of Urkmenistan signed a “Road Map” for joining the global methane commitment, which confirms the fact that our country takes environmental issues seriously.  COP 28 Chief Energy Transition Officer Saamir Elshihabi has already confirmed his participation in OGT 2023 and has expressed interest in discussing close partnerships ahead of COP 28 in the UAE.

The high interest in OGT 2023 is evidenced by the participation of such high-ranking officials as Iraqi Minister of Electricity Zeyad Ali Fadhil, Executive Director for Low-Carbon Solutions and International Growth of ADNOC Musabbe Al Kaabi, SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf, CNPC President Hou Qijun, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan Region Denis Afanasiev  and others.

From the Turkmen side, the forum will be attended by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov, heads and experts of national energy companies, the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, as well as heads of more than 20 companies.

Among the foreign delegates of the forum are heads of large energy companies such as SOCAR, Dragon Oil, CNPC, PETRONAS, Siemens Energy, Baker Hughes, Schlumberger, LX International, Yug-Neftegaz Private Limited and others, representatives of financial institutions, environmental organizations, as well as the UN  and OSCE.

Dozens of international and national media will cover OGT 2023.  Among them: S&P Global, Energy Intelligence, National Gas World, Interfax, Media Hub International, TRT, Industrial Technology, Argus Media, Orient, News Central Asia, Business Turkmenistan and many others.
