President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Malaysia on December 18 on an official visit, TDH reports.
As noted, this is the first visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Malaysia and the upcoming high-level talks will be another step in deepening traditional relations and expanding their scope.
Turkmenistan and Malaysia have friendly relations based on traditions of mutual respect. Currently, cooperation between our countries is successfully developing within the framework of international organizations, in particular, within the framework of the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement and other international organizations, the news agency notes.
Bilateral relations in various fields, including trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian, are regularly developing and strengthening.
The major role of mutual high-level visits in the development of interstate cooperation is noted. A clear confirmation of this are the official and state visits of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Malaysia in 2011 and 2016, as well as the visits of the heads of government of the friendly country to Turkmenistan in 2014 and 2019. The bilateral documents signed during the visits create a reliable contractual and legal basis for cooperation.
