The President of Turkmenistan proposes the OTS member states to implement mutually beneficial projects across a number of economic sectors

On October 30, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed the 13th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Türkiye, TDH reports.

In his speech, the Head of State highlighted the importance of effectively utilizing the potential of the Turkic states.

“The effectiveness of the Organization’s activities is primarily linked to the implementation of concrete initiatives and mutually beneficial projects aimed at the well-being of our peoples,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, speaking at the OTS Summit in Türkiye.

“The Turkic states possess an immense economic potential. To utilize this effectively, we must continue to develop cooperation in sectors such as energy, transport and communications, industry, agriculture, construction, textiles, processing and other areas of the economy,” the President of Turkmenistan noted.

“At the same time, we believe it is advisable to create favorable conditions for encouraging mutual investment, expanding contacts between entrepreneurs and implementing joint production projects,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov continued.

“The advantageous geographical position of our countries in Central Asia opens up broad opportunities for the development of transport corridors connecting the Caspian region, the South Caucasus, the Black Sea region, Türkiye and Europe,” the President of Turkmenistan said.

“To effectively harness this potential, we consider it necessary to increase the capacity of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor. In this regard, we are ready to offer the infrastructure of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized.

The Head of Turkmenistan also pointed to the need “to modernize the transport system, to improve conditions for international freight transport, to continuously simplify customs procedures and to actively introduce digital technologies.”

“Along with this, I believe it is appropriate to join efforts to create favorable conditions for increasing the capacity of transit corridors and for coordinating logistics operations and the transportation of goods,” the President of Turkmenistan said.
