The possibilities of implementing projects in the fuel and energy sector and other areas in Turkmenistan were discussed by Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a meeting on March 27 with representatives of the business community of the Republic of Korea, TDH reports.
Highly appreciating the fruitful partnership with leading Korean companies in various sectors of the Turkmen economy, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the successful implementation of a number of large projects in the country’s fuel and energy complex with the participation of the Korean side.
In this regard, the head of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan voiced proposals regarding joint work on the development of the fourth stage of the giant Galkynysh gas field and the construction of a training center for the study of the Korean language. The presence of many years of experience in Turkmen-Korean business interaction and new prospects for long-term cooperation, taking into account big plans for the production and processing of natural gas, were also emphasized.
Among the key vectors of partnership, Chairman Halk Maslahaty named transport, logistics, shipbuilding, tourism, and healthcare. A proposal was also voiced to establish direct flights between the two countries.
Having expressed gratitude to the head of the Halk Maslahaty for a substantive business conversation, Korean businessmen confirmed their readiness to further deepen cooperation with Turkmenistan, which is following the path of sustainable development and has powerful economic potential.
Roadmap approved to study the issue of accession of Turkmenistan to the Global Methane Commitment
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution approving the Roadmap for the development of international cooperation aimed at studying the issue of Turkmenistan joining the Global Methane Commitment for 2023-2024, as well as the Action Plan for its implementation.
