Hero-Arkadag: Turkmenistan is committed to expanding trade and economic cooperation with Iran

 The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met on March 28 with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir Abdollahian, TDH reports.

 During the meeting, the Iranian Foreign Minister noted the significant contribution of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to strengthening the interstate dialogue between Iran and Turkmenistan.

 In turn, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty spoke for the importance of building up partnerships in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as within the framework of major international organizations.

 Iran occupies an important place in the foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan, stated Hero-Arkadag.  In this context, the parties expressed their intention to strengthen effective cooperation in such sectors as the fuel and energy complex, transport and communications, construction, and agriculture.

 Noting the importance of visits by government delegations of the two countries at various levels and exchange of views on issues of bilateral and multilateral relations, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to expanding mutually beneficial trade and economic partnership with Iran.
