Turkmenistan and the EU will discuss the outcomes of 30 years of collaboration and new joint projects at a conference on May 14.
The Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, reported on the preparation for the forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union at a government meeting on May 10.
It was reported that the conference titled “30 Years of Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union: Working Together for the Future" aims to further strengthen the mutually beneficial partnership”.
The Vice-Chairman noted that thematic sessions of the forum would discuss issues related to the development of inter-parliamentary ties between Turkmenistan and the EU, cooperation in security, trade, education, green energy, and the implementation of programs in these areas.
A press conference is also planned to introduce new projects to be implemented jointly with the European Union.
During the forum, a Memorandum of Understanding is expected to be signed between the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, the State Concern "Turkmengas", and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) for the implementation of the project "Measures and Policy Dialogue on Climate Change for 2024–2028".
On the same day, an exhibition dedicated to the activities of the European Union in Turkmenistan is scheduled at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building.
Roadmap approved to study the issue of accession of Turkmenistan to the Global Methane Commitment
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution approving the Roadmap for the development of international cooperation aimed at studying the issue of Turkmenistan joining the Global Methane Commitment for 2023-2024, as well as the Action Plan for its implementation.
