The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation discussed the prospects for cooperation by telephone

The prospects for the further development of the cooperation, built on the principles of mutual benefit and equal partnership, were discussed during a telephone conversation held on May 20 between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, TDH reports.

The Hero-Arkadag conveyed greetings from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Head of Tatarstan and once again thanked for the warm welcome and hospitality provided to the members of the Turkmen delegation during a recent visit to friendly Tatarstan, noting the high organizational level of events held within the framework of the International Economic Forum “Russia–Islamic World: KazanForum 2024”. 

Congratulating on the successful holding of the Forum, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that such events would contribute to the development of Tatarstan and would increase its authority as the main link between Russia and the Islamic world.

Upon thanking for the kind words, Rustam Minnikhanov conveyed return words of greetings and best wishes to the Head of Turkmenistan, noting his significant personal contribution to the comprehensive development of the relations between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan.

As it was emphasized during the conversation, for centuries, our peoples had maintained close ties, based on common cultures, similar languages, a common religion, respect for each other and equality.

The general consensus was that regular meetings and negotiations held at the highest level were a vivid confirmation of the friendship between our peoples, united by common spiritual values. 

It was noted that Turkmenistan and Tatarstan effectively cooperated in various areas, including the oil and gas, shipbuilding and chemical industries and the supply of aircraft and trucks.

As it was stated, trade and economic ties took an important place in the Turkmenistan-Tatarstan relations. Large companies from Tatarstan are involved and successfully operate in the Turkmen market.

An equally significant aspect of the bilateral relations is the humanitarian sphere, including science and education, and the training of qualified personnel.

“We intend to continue intensifying our effective cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan, which is an integral part of the Turkmen-Russian interstate relations,” the Hero-Arkadag stressed.

At the end of the telephone conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Rustam Minnikhanov wished health and every success in responsible government activities to each other and further wellbeing and prosperity to the fraternal peoples of the two countries.

The International Forum to attract foreign investment in the energy sector of Turkmenistan (TEIF 2024) will be held in Paris on April 24-25, 2024 at the Hyatt Regency Etoile hotel.
