President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on September 20, at which the topical tasks of the country's socio-economic development were discussed, and the projects of a number of documents were considered.

During a government meeting, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov reported on the state of affairs in the supervised fuel and energy sector.

As reported, the State Concern «Turkmengas» and the State Corporation «Turkmengeology» are taking practical measures to extract additional volumes of hydrocarbons, search and develop oil and gas deposits of the country.

In particular, in accordance with the developed plan for the study and drilling of production and appraisal wells, drilling of exploration wells at the sites of Ahal, Lebap and Mary regions is provided. In this context, it is necessary to continue drilling exploration wells at oil and gas fields, the head of state said, entrusting the Vice-Chairman to keep work in this direction.
