As is known, on September 28, 2018, the year “Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Pyragy”, with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, celebrations to mark Independence Day were held at the International Equestrian Sports Complex.
The complex, located in a picturesque place at the Kopetdag Mountains, hosted seven races of various distance. Three-year-old horses took part in the first three races to overcome the distance of 1,600 meters. Master rider Y. Saparov with the bay racer Gulbahar from the Baherden equestrian farm of the Türkmengaz State Concern was announced the winner of the second race with a result of 1 minute 51.6 seconds. This victory in the festive race devoted to the anniversary of the Independence of our Motherland caused a feeling of immense pride among the oil and gas workers of the country, increasing their festive mood.
The professional rider Y. Saparov proudly notes that it is a great honour for him to participate and win in the festive race, which was held with the participation of the head of state. According to the young rider, the dynamic development of Turkmenistan and the successes, achieved in all spheres of the life of the Turkmen state, are certainly symbolised by the speed, agility, grace and incredible endurance of our heavenly horses, without which not a single holiday in the country takes place.
It is not for nothing that people say: “t is not the horse that gallops, but happiness.” Saparov and his horse, like many master riders, were successful in the festive competition. During our conversation, Saparov expressed sincere gratitude to the Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Serdar for their concern for developing horse breeding, improving the social and living conditions of horse breeders, trainers and riders and popularising the Akhal-Teke breed throughout the world.
The races that took place during the celebration of the anniversary of independence once again demonstrated the triumph of universal national values, an integral part of which is the national treasure of the Turkmen people – the Akhal-Teke horse, which is considered the main symbol of modern Turkmenistan.
