On May 9, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived on a working visit to the Russian Federation, where, at the invitation of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, he took part in the celebrations in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, held in Moscow, TDH reports.
In the Moscow Kremlin, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The heads of the two states exchanged friendly handshakes and took a joint commemorative photo.
From the Kremlin, the President of Turkmenistan, together with distinguished guests - heads of delegations from the CIS countries and other foreign countries who arrived in Moscow to participate in the festive events, proceeded to the Central Tribune on Red Square, where the Victory Parade took place.
Parade units of the Russian army and armies of a number of countries marched in front of the stands. Among them was the Honor Guard Battalion of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan. Young Turkmen servicemen are the heirs and worthy successors of the glorious traditions of their fathers and grandfathers. This is a visible embodiment of the continuous connection and continuity of generations, faithful to the wise precepts of their ancestors.
At the end of the festive parade, the heads of state who arrived in Moscow for the celebrations on the occasion of the glorious date proceeded to the Alexander Garden, located near the Kremlin wall, where they took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
