Prospects of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation discussed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

 Prospects for bilateral cooperation were discussed at a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation from the Japanese side, Managing Director of Itochu Corporation Hiroyuki Tsubai, the website of the Foreign Ministry of our country reports.

 The meeting, held on March 25 via videoconference, was also attended by Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan Rakhimberdi Dzhepbarov and Director of the Japanese company Sumitomo Corporation Gota Ivanami.

 During the talks, the sides discussed current issues of cooperation, in particular, related to the supply of Japanese-made earthmoving and automotive equipment to Turkmenistan.  The results of joint projects were discussed, as well as the possibilities of holding the 14th meeting of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation in Tokyo.

 The parties noted the effectiveness of trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Japan, based on the principles of trust and consideration of mutual interests.
