The plant for the production of gasoline from gas in the Akhal region and the polymer plant in Kiyanly were transferred to the jurisdiction of the State Concern «Turkmenchemistry».  This was stated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the expanded meeting of the government held last Friday.

As noted, this decision was made in order to “establish the stable operation of these plants, as well as release the State Concern «Turkmengas» from solving problems that are not within its competence”.

Having signed the relevant Decree, the head of the state instructed the heads of the aforementioned concerns to draw up all the documents for the acceptance and delivery of these enterprises in a short time.

The Kiyanli Polymer Plant was built by the Korean companies LG International Corp, Hyundai Engineering, the Japanese TOYO Engineering Corporation jointly with the State Concern «Turkmengas» and commissioned in October 2018.  The gas chemical complex is designed to process 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas to produce 386 thousand tons of polyethylene and 81 thousand tons of polypropylene per year.

The Akhal plant for the production of gasoline from gas was opened in June 2019.  This large facility is designed to process 1 billion 785 million cubic meters of «blue fuel» and produce 600 thousand tons of ECO-93 gasoline that meets the EURO-5 standard, as well as diesel fuel and liquefied gas per year.
