President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited the head of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan at any convenient time.  This is stated in the letter of the Uzbek leader addressed to the head of the Turkmen state, published in the newspaper «Neutral Turkmenistan».

“Today we can state with confidence that Uzbek-Turkmen relations based on the principles of mutual respect, support and good neighborliness will continue to develop dynamically for the benefit of our peoples, ensuring stability and sustainable progress in Central Asia,” the head of Uzbekistan said.

In his letter, Sh. Mirziyoyev also expressed gratitude for the organization at a high level of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, which took place on August 6 in the Avaza National Tourist Zone on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.

“The regular Consultative meeting held on your initiative with a very rich program was very fruitful, and its bright results, of course, meet the fundamental interests and aspirations of all our peoples,” the message says.

The head of Uzbekistan called the meeting of the heads of Central Asia a historic event that would make an important contribution to strengthening regional cooperation.

“It once again demonstrated the irreversible nature of the new atmosphere established in the region, firm political will and commitment of the heads of state to further strengthen mutual trust and support, expand mutually beneficial cooperation,” S. Mirziyoyev said in a letter.
