In January-September 2021, Turkmenistan exported 126.8 million liters of gasoline to Uzbekistan, the press service of the State Statistics Committee of this republic reports.  In general, for the first nine months of this year, Uzbekistan imported 289 million liters of gasoline for 104 million US dollars.

As noted, at present, Turkmenistan is the second largest supplier of automotive fuel to Uzbekistan.  Of the total volume of gasoline purchased during this period, Turkmen fuel accounted for about 43.9%.

The largest supplier of gasoline to Uzbekistan is Russia with an export volume of 140.5 million liters of fuel, or 48.6% of the total supply.

Among other exporters of gasoline to Uzbekistan during this period were Kazakhstan (16 million liters) and Iraq (3.6 million liters).

As previously reported, last year, Turkmen ECO-93 gasoline began to be displayed at the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange.

The production of environmentally friendly fuels from natural gas is carried out at a new plant in the Akhal region of Turkmenistan, which became operational in June 2019.  The plant was built under the contract of State Concern «Turkmengas» with a consortium of the Japanese company Kawasaki Heavy Industries and the Turkish construction holding Rönesans.

Turkmenistan sells its oil products through the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange to the countries of Europe and Central Asia, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region.
