Over 10 years, Central Asian countries supplied 316 billion cubic meters of gas to China, - Xinhua

In the first half of 2020, over 19 billion cubic meters of natural gas were transported to the Middle Kingdom via the Central Asia-China gas pipeline, the Xinhua news agency reported.

In general, during the period of operation of this main pipeline, which was commissioned in December 2009, 316 billion cubic meters of natural gas were pumped.

The Central Asian gas pipeline starts from the border of Turkmenistan, passes through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, and then connects to the Chinese West-East gas pipeline in Khorgos of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The total length of the gas pipeline is 1,833 km, it is designed for the annual pumping of gas in the amount of 60 billion cubic meters, - the message says.

Turkmenistan is the largest gas supplier for this pipeline. In 2019, the State Concern “Turkmengas” supplied 31.2 billion cubic meters of gas to the Celestial Empire.
