According to the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, in January-July 2020, the production of polypropylene in our country increased by 40.5%, polyethylene - by 140% compared to the same period in 2019. At the same time, the physical volume of polypropylene produced amounted to 71.1 thousand tons, and polyethylene - 137.4 thousand tons.
This dynamic growth is due to the planned reaching full production capacity of the region's largest gas chemical complex in the village of Kiyanly in the Balkan region.
The construction of the gas chemical complex in the Kiyanly settlement was carried out under a contract between the State Concern “Turkmengas” and a consortium of companies Hyundai Engineering Go.Ltd, LG International Corp (Republic of Korea) and Toyo Engineering Corp (Japan).
The enterprise with a production capacity of 381 thousand tons of polyethylene and 81 thousand tons of polypropylene per year was commissioned in October 2018.
This project received a special award from the TXF organization (Great Britain) as one of the ten best projects in Europe and Eurasia in 2014, funded by export credit agencies.
The efficient operation of the Kiyanly Gas Chemical Complex will ensure a stable growth in the production of export-oriented products with high added value in Turkmenistan.
