By 2028, more than 278.9 billion manats are planned to be deployed in Turkmenistan. This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the State Council held last Friday. These parameters are provided by the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country in 2022-2028."
In 2022-2028, the State budget funds will be directed to ensure the main directions of socio-economic growth and innovative development of the economy. A significant part of the state budget, as before, will be used to finance the social sphere, the President said.
- In the next seven years, we will significantly strengthen the country's production potential by disbursing investments in the amount of more than 278.9 billion manats, the head of state continued, adding that wages will be increased by 1.8 times over this period.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov also said that by 2028 “about 30,000 additional jobs will appear in the sectors of the economy, the total area of housing per capita will increase by 102.2%, 40 preschool institutions, 54 secondary schools, 4 institutions of higher professional education will be built. , 10 modern hospitals, 7 houses of culture, as well as over 500 industrial and social facilities”.
The President noted that it is planned to continue cooperation with international financial institutions, in particular, mechanisms for attracting foreign investment will be gradually improved in order to support entrepreneurship, small and medium-sized businesses, and finance domestic producers.
Cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is being significantly intensified. Special attention will be paid to financing a competitive, technologically advanced, resource- and energy-saving, environmentally friendly electronic and electrical industry.
Necessary measures should be taken for Turkmenistan to become a member of the World Trade Organization. This will open up new opportunities for attracting foreign investment to the national economy, creating additional jobs and developing the infrastructure of industries, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.
The meeting of the State Council, dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan, was attended by the leadership, representatives of the legislature, political parties and public associations, employees of institutions and enterprises, respected elders, and youth.
The agenda of the national forum included summing up the results achieved over the past period, as well as discussing priority tasks for the further development of Turkmenistan.
