The President of Turkmenistan instructed to intensify work on the implementation of projects in the fuel and energy sector

The results of the development in January-August of this year of various sectors of the national economy, including the oil and gas sector, were summed up at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers chaired by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov via digital video communication system last Friday.

Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Myratgeldi Meredov reported on the results of the work carried out over eight months in the areas under his supervision as part of the implementation of the Oil and Gas Industry Development Program for the period up to 2030.

In particular, it was reported that the plan for oil and gas condensate production was fulfilled by 102.2%, natural and associated gas - by 101.2%, the plan for the export of "blue fuel" - by 100.8%, oil refining - by 103.1%, production of gasoline - by 105.6%, diesel fuel - by 106.3%, kerosene - by 100.3%. The growth rate of production of liquefied gas amounted to 121.8%.

The head of thestate sent instructions to the Vice-Chairman to improve the activities of oil and gas enterprises, to ensure a stable growth of production and economic indicators.

The President also instructed to intensify the implementation of projects aimed at strengthening the potential of the industry, including in the field of prospecting, exploration and industrial development of new oil and gas fields, as well as the processing of hydrocarbons and the production of products that are in high demand on world markets. At the same time, special attention should be paid to the issue of diversifying the export of Turkmen energy resources.

Speaking about the need to speed up the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, the head of the President ordered to analyze the state of affairs in this direction and instructed the Vice-Chairman to take the necessary measures to establish this work properly.
