Measures are being taken to increase oil and gas production

The measures taken to increase oil production and strengthen the resource base of the oil and gas industry were reported by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shakhym Abdrakhmanov during a government meeting, which President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held last Friday via video link.

According to the Vice-Chairman, the State Concern “Turkmennebit” is carrying out the necessary work at the Uzynada field in the Balkan region, as a result of which an inflow of natural gas and condensate has been obtained.

After listening to the report, the President emphasized that the discovery of hydrocarbon reserves in the promising oil and gas fields of the Caspian Sea is intended to give impetus to further dynamic development of the domestic economy, to ensure an increase in the flow rate of oil wells and the production potential of the industry, having addressed the Vice-Chairman with specific instructions.

Sh. Abdrakhmanov also reported on the state of affairs in various sectors of the fuel and energy complex and the progress in improving the infrastructure of industry enterprises. In this context, the draft Resolution “On the purchase of spare parts by the State Concern “Turkmengas”” was submitted to the President for consideration. Their purchase will ensure the uninterrupted operation of gas pumping units and gas turbine engines at wells, as well as a reliable supply of natural gas.

Summing up the report, the head of state stressed that ensuring the stable productive work of the oil and gas industry is directly related to the modernization of its infrastructure, strengthening the material and technical base of the domestic fuel and energy complex, the introduction of scientific and technical developments, advanced technologies in accordance with the requirements of the time.

Having signed the presented Decree, the head of state sent it to the Vice-Chairman for the digital system and instructed to ensure the proper implementation of the provisions of this document.
