The Russian oil company Lukoil is interested in cooperation with Turkmenistan in the production and processing of hydrocarbons, and petrochemicals, said the head of the company Vagit Alekperov at a meeting with President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held on Wednesday, September 9, in the city of Turkmenbashi.
The oil and gas industry is one of the most important areas of economic relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, the President said, noting that the Turkmen side is always ready to discuss counter proposals with well-known foreign companies.
Having familiarized the head of state with the development of oil and gas fields in the Caspian Sea, conducted by “Lukoil”, Alekperov noted the company's readiness to expand business and partnership relations with Turkmenistan both in the mining sector and in the production of finished products of the oil and gas chemical industries.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the possibilities of implementing joint projects and long-term interaction on an economically beneficial basis for both parties.
