Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted Shinzo Abe's great contribution to strengthening the Turkmen-Japanese partnership

On Thursday, a telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.
Thanking Shinzo Abe for the constant attention and support paid to strengthening the Turkmen-Japanese dialogue, which has been developing in an ascending line in recent years, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the established regular contacts at the highest level serve as a solid basis for further deepening effective cooperation.
As the Turkmen leader said, he recalls with a special feeling of warmth the meeting with the head of the Japanese government in October 2019 as part of a working visit to Tokyo to participate in the enthronement ceremony of Emperor Naruhito.
Continuing the conversation, the interlocutors stated that Turkmenistan and Japan are productively cooperating both in a bilateral format and in the international arena. Noting the focus of the parties on enhancing trade and economic relations, Berdimuhamedov and Abe stressed that currently bilateral cooperation has acquired a strategic long-term nature, as evidenced by the successfully implemented projects for the construction of modern oil and gas and gas chemical complexes in Turkmenistan.
-We will continue to support the activities of Japanese companies in our country, create favorable conditions for investment activity, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
Noting that Turkmenistan understood with understanding the news of Shinzo Abe's resignation from the post of Prime Minister for health reasons, the President thanked the interlocutor for active joint work and great personal contribution to the development of interstate relations.
At the same time, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan's interest in strengthening interstate dialogue and readiness for constructive cooperation with the new government of Japan.
Expressing confidence that his successor as Prime Minister of Japan will continue to develop bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation, Abe thanked the President of Turkmenistan for the active attention shown to interstate interaction and strengthening contacts at the highest level.
