The President of Turkmenistan discussed with the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE the priorities of interstate partnership

 Priority areas of bilateral cooperation were discussed during the meeting of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov with Deputy Prime Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Minister for the Office of the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, TDH reports.

 The distinguished guest from the UAE, who arrived on Sunday with a short-term working visit to the Turkmen capital, was met by the head of Turkmenistan at the Ashgabat International Airport, decorated on this occasion with the State flags of the two countries.

 As the Deputy Prime Minister noted, the UAE attaches great importance to the development of interstate relations with Turkmenistan, including the strengthening of trade and economic cooperation.

 During the conversation, the importance of the Turkmen-Emirati summit talks held in November last year in Abu Dhabi, as well as the official visit to the UAE of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which took place in the first half of this month, was noted, within the framework of which a solid  a package of documents aimed at developing trade and economic cooperation.

 As was noted during the meeting, among the main areas of partnership is the implementation of joint projects that can become the driving force behind economic cooperation and open up new opportunities for attracting investments, creating joint ventures, creating a modern infrastructure system, and building up cooperation in the banking and financial sector.

 It was also noted that in recent years, a multi-vector transport system is being formed in Turkmenistan.  In particular, the infrastructure of the maritime transport network is expanding, large-scale construction of new automobile, air and rail transport centers and corridors is underway.

 In this regard, it was emphasized that large-scale projects on transport systems are being developed in Turkmenistan and there are great prospects for establishing relations with foreign partners with rich experience in this area, including with UAE companies.

 Highly appreciating the accumulated positive experience of long-term cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE, Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the visit of a high-ranking representative of a friendly country would give a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations, taking into account great opportunities and mutual interests.

In January-November 2021, Uzbekistan imported 141.2 million liters of motor gasoline from Turkmenistan. This was reported by the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan. Thus, Turkmenistan ranks second in the supply of motor gasoline to the neighboring country.
